The recommended length for each of your SEO contents.
There is no average word count per page for improving natural referencing. It depends on the type of page you are writing and the topic of your activity. Sometimes, 300 words are sufficient, while 5,000 words may be insufficient.
Based on the competitors for the chosen keyword, Dokey provides a length recommendation. The suggested length positions you above what most competitors are doing.
You can find this recommendation in the Writing tab of your project, at the bottom of your page.
It is possible to adjust this length goal. To do this, click on Modify to the right of the word count. Here you can increase or decrease the length according to your inspiration and time. Please note the following:
- It is not advisable to overuse this feature. Length remains an important criterion in ranking for keywords. Try to stay in the green zone and not lower this length goal for all your texts. Lowering this goal significantly gives you fewer chances to rank, even if you achieve an excellent score afterward.
- If you sometimes write shorter or longer than recommended, it is better to readjust this word count so Dokey can recalculate your score.
- It is better to write too long than too short. However, writing too long too often can sometimes be detrimental to your SEO results, for example, if it damages the understanding of the text or the speed of the site.
